Mel Bucher

Mel Bucher is Head of Global Business Development with Franklin Equity. He directs global sales and distribution and is responsible for advancing client partnerships and delivering growth across the group’s broad lineup of public and private equity strategies.

Prior to his current role Mr. Bucher was a key member of the Martin Currie Executive Management Committee and served as the Head of Global Distribution. In this capacity he managed the firm's largest client relationships and led the expansion of its global institutional business. His extensive institutional expertise was honed at Martin Currie and Baillie Gifford. He began his career in 1994 at Franklin Templeton where he played a pivotal role in the rapid growth of their European operations.

Mr. Bucher holds FINRA series 7, 24, and 63 licenses, along with the UK Investment Management Certificate (UK SIP).
